During August each year we organise a Holiday Site in the Picturesque village of Burton Bradstock, near Bridport in Dorset. Our site is just a short walk along a footpath to the beach or to the traditional pubs who provide good food, good drink, and a hearty welcome. A visit to the National Trust Beach in Burton Bradstock gives you the chance to taste one on the many varieties of ice cream in the Hive café there.

Outside the site is  a  bus stop from which you can can travel in either direction East along the coast to Abbotsbury, Weymouth and Portland.  Or West to West Bay, Bridport, Lyme Regis and Charmouth.

West Bay is an interesting little seaside area. It was once Bridport’s harbour and is still a launching site for those who may have boats. Fishing trips can also be arranged from here. Now used as a film location for TV series like “Harbour Lights” and more recently “Broardchurch”.
Bridport has a regular street market on Wednesday and Saturday where there are many brick-a-brac stalls, with bargains to be had. The town also boasts a Traditional Brewery with tours and a tasting of their produce. It has a large supermarkets, and most items can be purchased in this nearby town.

Lyme Regis is a very pleasant seaside town whose origins started with the King gave the monks permission to produce salt from sea-water. A visit to the 14th Century Cobb, and the new Lifeboat station will add to your visit.

In the East you can visit

Abbotbury where you will find a fine church,  a Tropical garden, a Swannery a Tithe Barn all in an interesting little village.  Travelling through you will then get to the Famous seaside resorts of Weymouth and Portland.

Burton Bradstock is a fine place to complete your visit to Hardy Country and the Jurassic coast.
